Travelling worldwide for my clients is always a pleasure, and more than this, when the wedding is in Italy! After doing my work in Rome, I decided immediately that I'd be doing some Shopping. Make Up stores in Rome are fantastic, thousands of different foundation shades and eye shadows. If you are looking for good and new brands (if you are lucky you can find a bargain), or just walking on the streets enjoying the Italian atmosphere of “La Dolce Vita”, here there are some ideas on where or what to shop in Italy's capital.
Sephora - at Piazza di Spagna
This chain of stores sells luxurious brands and it has its own makeup products and tools. I bought the Sephora Pro Brushes. I can say the quality is really good. I choose five of them from the Pro collection and one of it from Must-have. Which ones? Pro: numbers 83, 75, 55 for face and 15 and 30 for the eyes. On the down side: I have heard many makeup artists talking about this Sephora Must-have smudge 70 (eye brush) and I decided to try it. In my opinion, it’s just a regular brush: nor great nor terrible.
I used these brushes several times until now (it means washing them every time I used them) and they are still like new.
In that store in Piazza di Spagna you can find a remarkable beauty consultant /makeup artist to guide you, his name is Ottaviano (like the Roman Emperor! he perfectly matches with the city, lol). I don’t understand why this chain doesn’t work in the UK, that’s too bad... So, if you are planning to go to Rome visit Sephora, the price is better than Limoni or Douglas shops.
Via Condotti
Via dei Condotti , or simply Via Condotti (the most glamorous luxury Retail Street in Rome) is a great fun place to observe and be inspired by the walls of makeup colours and textures to create new fresh looks. At the end of this famous roman road you can find on the right at Via Mario de Fiori the Wycon shop (good for shop eyeshadows, they are well pigmented and easy to blend). This is an Italian brand of makeup and body care with good quality and affordable prices.
After this I visited the Rinascente, Limoni and Douglas shops and MAC Cosmetics at Via del Corso. Do you know these products or brands? Please, let me know what you think of it.
Enough with the shopping, Rome always reminds you that it is time to celebrate life, and why not with a glass of prosecco? Salute!
